Founded in 2019, Alphaterm is a Moldovan manufacturer of fiberglass fabrics used in construction. With an investment, financed through a EU4Business-EBRD Credit Line loan, the company expanded its production facilities and the range of various density nets to meet the demands of buyers in European markets. To this end, the company purchased an industrial building in Chisinau to construct a modern fiberglass fabrics production facility with modern equipment. The investment created a facility that meets the highest environmental, occupational H&S and product quality standards.
The project included the purchase of modern production machinery, waste compactors, as well as building reconstruction measures, such as insulation, efficient heating and a rainwater harvesting system.
The new product range has already attracted the interest of European buyers and the company has signed several contracts for delivery to Europe, with the quality/price ratio being the most convincing factor. The adherence to European environmental and occupational H&S standards are an additional bonus that satisfies buyers’ requirements while reducing the company’s production cost through the energy savings achieved.
The entire project was implemented during the COVID pandemic. Applying strict hygiene measures, the company managed to get through this period without any COVID cases among the work force and without any interruptions to production continuity.
The cash-back grant, financed by the EU4Business initiative, was used to purchase raw materials and helped the company to rapidly scale up production of the new product range in the new production facility.
